Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Find answers to common legal, licensing, tax exemption, dealer plate, and operational questions regarding the FlipLane wholesale co-op.
Under what dealer license does FlipLane operate?
FlipLane operates under Georgia Used Motor Vehicle Dealer License #GA-406, held by Byrd Dawgs Automotive Group LLC. All auction registrations, wholesale rep badges, and dealer-only gate passes are issued and maintained through this licensed entity.
Can I obtain dealer plates or temporary transit tags?
Yes. Active Co-op members who purchase vehicles through FlipLane are eligible for legitimate 45-day dealer drive-out transit tags issued under Georgia DMV regulations. Transit tags are intended solely for transporting newly purchased wholesale units from the auction to your reconditioning facility or retail location.
How does Georgia sales tax exemption work for wholesale purchases?
Vehicles purchased for wholesale resale through FlipLane are exempt from state sales tax pursuant to Georgia Form ST-5 (Sales and Use Tax Certificate of Exemption) and multi-jurisdiction MTC resale certificates. When you bid under License #GA-406, no retail sales tax or title ad valorem tax (TAVT) is assessed at the auction register.
Can I use commercial dealer floorplans like NextGear or AFC?
Yes. FlipLane supports floorplan financing through major commercial automotive lenders including NextGear Capital, Automotive Finance Corporation (AFC), Floorplan Xpress, Kinetic Advantage, and Westlake Financial. FlipLane charges a flat $75 administrative processing fee to reconcile floorplan drafts and send title collateral to your floorplan company.
What is the dispute and arbitration policy for damaged units?
FlipLane follows the National Auto Auction Association (NAAA) Arbitration Policy. If a purchased vehicle has undisclosed structural frame damage, flood history, odometer discrepancy, or major mechanical defect exceeding $500 to repair, an arbitration claim must be filed within 48 hours of sale or within the active Post-Sale Inspection (PSI) timeframe. Our deal desk handles the arbitration filing on your behalf.
How quickly can a carrier pick up my vehicle from the auction?
As soon as funds are cleared and the auction releases the electronic gate pass (usually within 1-2 hours of wire receipt), our dispatch team generates your carrier release authorization. Transporters can pick up units during normal auction yard hours Monday through Saturday.
